REVIEW: Bourjois Healthy Mix Liquid Foundation

I've been using this foundation for a few weeks and I love it!

^also please excuse the fact that I photographed the french side *fail*

Ok so the foundation comes in a plastic bottle with a pump (always a plus) and I got it in the lightest shade, 51. I Could afford to go a few shades lighter but it's not so bad that I can't wear it. I love how smooth it aplies and how it gives that natural glow, that "healthy tint" that I look for in a good foundation. This cost me £9.99 from Boots but I purchased it when there was a 3 for 2 offer on all Bourjois products so I didn't pay entirely the full price technically. It is also available from Superdrug if you don't have a Boots near you.
I like how a little goes a long way with this foundation. Ive been wearing this almost daily for a month now and i still havent even hit half way up the bottle. I don't even have to use a full pump to get an entire face covered. I prefer to apply this with my fingers for a more natual look but I used a stipilling brush to apply a thicker layer for photos (such as these ) or for big nights out.

As you can see above, the consitency is nice and liquidy, unlike the previous foundation I reviewed here, MUA professional Matte Finish Liquid foundation , and so its easy to cover your face with a small amount of product and without having to pull and tug at your skin.

I find that it gives a nice, medium coverage, which is enough for me to only have to wear minimum concealer on top of it.

So, to conclude, I love this product, definatly one of the best foundations I have ever purchased. I am going to repurchase,as long as nothing new and possible better comes up, when I finish this bottle. I would rate this 9/10 and suggest anyone looking for a new foundation head on down to their boots or superdrug and try it out! :)
Question: Do you have this foundation? What do you think of it? Or do you have another Bourjous Foundation that you think is better? Comment Below!

LOOK: Rocker Gun Metal/Black Smoky Eye

So I promised a look and here it is!!! Hope you guys enjoy! Will be doing some more wearable, neutral looks soon, don't worry! The look basicaly consists of a black/greyey silvery smoky eye with a brick red glossy lip.

So not the most attractive photos but they show of the make-up well I think. I love this kind of look, and I know many people would not wear this out and criticize this kind of make up as "unwearable" but I am the kind of person who does wear this kind of make up out and I'm proud! I go crazy with make up! I love it! I'm addicted! And I don't care who knows it! If you don't like this style then just wait till the next look! A much more safe, pretty neutral eye!

Anyway bellow are the products I've used if anyone's interested. You can see its a mix of high end such as MAC and Benefit all the way down to Primark and Pound land!!! I don't judge whether a product is good based on its price! A pound or not it can still be good quality!

You can probably just make out an eye shadow palette. That's one of my custom made CD case palettes, that I filled up with random eye shadows that I had lying around. The black/grey shadow is part of a palette that I de-potted because it was really bulky, but the shadows were good. Its called the "saint and sinners" palette, from Primark and it cost me a mere £2! Unfortunately, I cant remember the exact name of this colour from the palette, but its quite distinctive so you shouldn't get confused.

Ok, so above is:
-vital radiance (revlon) eyebrow pallete (poundland)
-bourjois healthy mix liquid foundation in colour 51 (boots/superdrug) ((REVIEW SOON!))
-Collection 2000 Shimmer and Shade highlighter (poundland)
-MAC's eyeshadow in Carbon (MAC)
-bareMinerals eye colour in frills (bareMinerals)
Chilli Pepper Blusher pot (boots)

Above:
-Natural Collection Lipstick in cherry red(boots)
-eyelash curlers that I've had for so long that I've forgotten where I got them!
-Topshop Lip Marker in Berry (Topshop)
-MAC blusher in harmony (MAC)
-Topshop gel eyeliner in ink (Topshop)
-No7 Extreme length mascara in black (Boots)

Above:
-Rimmel London The max volume flash mascara in 003, extreme black (Boots, superdrug)
-Barry M Special edition eye pencil (no longer available in this duo but similar products in their range at boots or superdrug)
-My custom CD palette
-Benefit HighBeam (Benefit)

So I hope you guys found this interesting and even if your not usually into this kind of stuff why not give it a try! Go on, I dare you! I hope you have as much fun as I did creating this look! Dont forget to follow this blog, either by Google Friend Connect or just your email so you get a notification when I update this. Look out for a competition that I will be hosting very soon!
Question: Would you be brave enough to wear this look out? Comment below!
Thanks for reading! xxx

REVIEW: MUA Matte Foundation

So on my shopping spree, I recently purchaced MUA's (Makeup Academy) Professional Matte Foundation in Shade 1, Soft Sand. This liquid foundation claims to be a "Velvet Smooth Long-Lasting Finish" foundation.
So as you can see, the product comes in a flexible, long, thin tube with a screw on lid. I like the packaging as its not bulkey and not heavy like many foundations that come in a glass/plasic bottle. I also love the fact that for £4 you get 30ml of product! Not bad! Especially since I purchased mine during Superdrug's "3 for 2 on all cosmetics" deal. Now the product itself is unfortunately not 'my thing' If your looking for a really thick, full coverage foundation then this is for you! However, I personally like my foundation to be more runny. The only way I could wear this was mixed with a moisturiser to thin it out. Then it did apply very nicely and smoothly, even without a primer. Another downside though was that even though I purchased the lightest shade, it was still too dark and had to much of an orange undertone for my fair, pink undertone skin. That said, anyone with a normal skin tone may be able to enjoy this product! I'm going to save it for Easter, when I go on holiday and should come back looking a bit browner! Here are some swatches on my hand of the product and how it looks blended out.
Now my final gripe with this product is that even though it boasts a "matte finish" I found it couldn't be more wrong! Now, I am not usually the type to go for a completely matte finish, I prefer something that leaves my skin with a bit of a glow, a dewiness, but some days I do crave that matte porcelain look. This foundation, however, is not matte at all! In fact it leaves my skin with my desired glowing, dewy finish! I would suggest that MUA change there packaging to accommodate for this because the market for the more natural finish foundation is growing. especially approaching the summer, and it is unusual to find such a finish on a cheap, drugstore product instead of a high end, more expensive one! If you prefer a matte finish, it can be easily achieved with the help of a powder. I would use my Rimmle "Stay Matte" Powder foundation in translucent.
Comment bellow what you think if you have this MUA product, or what your favourite MUA product is. I love MUA, so expect some more reviews on the way! Will hopefully be uploading a look tomorrow to break up all these reviews, so make sure to follow this blog to see it! :)
